With a small delay, JYSK celebrates the opening of store number 3,000 in Rome, Italy.
During the autumn of 2021, the name DÄNISCHES BETTENLAGER will be changed to JYSK.
Despite a number of special challenges, JYSK found the recipe for success and ended up with an increase in earnings of 15 percent in the financial year 2019/20.
JYSK is stepping up its ongoing work with sustainability with the recruitment of Sam Harrington as Sustainability Manager. His job will be to further drive environmental change throughout the company.
Even though JYSK had not done any marketing, many customers stopped by, when JYSK opened the first store in Moscow on 3 June 2020.
On 3 June 2020, JYSK will open the company’s first store in Russia, when customers are welcomed in the store in Trojka, Moscow.
175 new stores and a large increase in customers meant that JYSK's total turnover in the last financial year grew to 3.794 billion EUR, while EBIT earnings landed at 436 million EUR.
JYSK has officially opened a new distribution centre in Bulgaria, which is the most modern logistics centre in the country. Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov was part of the opening ceremony, together with CEO & President of JYSK Jan Bøgh.
After more than 40 years of managing JYSK and Lars Larsen Group, Lars Larsen has decided to step back effective immediately. New Chairman of the board will be Lars Larsen's son, Jacob Brunsborg.
2 April 2019 it is 40 years since the first JYSK store opened in Aarhus. Since then expansion has been a cornerstone in JYSK, and therefore the anniversary is celebrated with the opening of the company’s first store in Ireland.

With a turnover of 30 billion DKK and a pre-tax profit of 3.4 billion DKK, 2016/17 was the best year ever for Lars Larsen Group.
With a turnover of 3.36 billion EUR and an EBIT result of 444 million EUR, the growth continues in JYSK, which now has more than 2,500 stores worldwide.
With a turnover of 14.6 billion DKK, and 6,7 million additional customers, 2016/17 was yet another record year in JYSK Nordic.
Massive IT investments are the reason behind a new campaign from JYSK to recruit employees within IT and SAP.
Politicians, entrepreneurs and representatives from the top management of JYSK will meet in Bozhuristhe on May 30th at 2.30 pm to mark first sod for the construction of JYSK’s new distribution centre.
