JYSK opens in Belgium

One of the world’s largest retailers within sleeping and living, JYSK, plans to open its first stores in Belgium in April 2017.

In the spring of 2017, Belgian consumers will have the opportunity to get great offers on products for the bedroom, living room and garden, when JYSK opens its first stores in the northern part of the country.

JYSK expects to open around 50 stores in Belgium in the years to come, and Country Manager for JYSK in Holland and Belgium, Frank Christant, is looking forward to adding Belgian stores to the 84 JYSK stores located in Holland today.

“JYSK has become very popular in Holland, and I hope that this will also be the case in Belgium. I feel that JYSK can really contribute to the market and offer something new to Belgian consumers. Not only through our assortment but through our approach towards customers and customer service as well,” explains Frank Christant.

The best team is crucial

The founder of JYSK, Lars Larsen, began his adventure when opening a small shop in the Danish city of Aarhus in 1979.

Since then JYSK has grown rapidly, and today there are more than 2,300 stores in 41 different countries, including DÄNISCHES BETTENLAGER in Germany and Austria.

When JYSK opens in Belgium, the chain will have stores in all major European countries, and Frank Christant is looking forward to making JYSK a success in Belgium.

“JYSK is a large organization with a lot of stores all over the world. However, we open in Belgium with the knowledge that we are new to the Belgian consumers, and that we have to offer something extraordinary to be successful. The best employees and the best service are crucial, and that is why we have already started looking for the right people and building a great organisation,” says Frank Christant.
